Hubungan Jenis Persalinan dengan Keberhasilan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini (IMD) di RSUD Maria Walanda Maramis

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) is the process of placing the baby on the mother’s chest immediately after birth so that the baby can have skin-to-skin contact and start breastfeeding within the first hour of birth. The success of IMD can be influenced by several factors, one of which is the type of delivery. This study aims to determine the relationship between type of delivery and the success of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) at RSUD Maria Walanda Maramis. This study used a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 38 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using observation sheets of delivery type and IMD success. Data analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test with SPSS. The results showed that most respondents underwent normal delivery as many as 23 respondents (60.5%) and successfully performed IMD as many as 25 respondents (65.8%). The Chi-Square test results showed a p-value of 0.002. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between type of delivery and the success of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) at RSUD Maria Walanda Maramis.
